Activity 2: You are my Sunshine [4 points]

People in New Zealand love spending time outdoors. Unfortunately, the sun is very powerful and the rates of skin cancer are incredibly high in New Zealand. In fact, they are higher than anywhere else in the entire world! To protect ourselves against skin cancer, we need to be careful about how much time we spend in the sun. We have to be ‘Sunsmart.’ Five things you need to do in the sun 1) Where sunhat at all times when outside to avoid skin cancer 2)Where Sunscreen 3) Clothing 4)Stay in shade 5)Sunglasses

    Great work on completing this activity. You have some good things to do to protect ourselves from the sun. It really is good to learn about it. The one I like most is putting on sunscreen and a hat. Which one do you do mostly?

  3. Hey there Fau, it's Billy here from the Summer Learning Journey. I am so pleased to see that you're completing activities during your break from school.

    I've enjoyed reading your super smart tips for staying safe in the sun this summer. It's really important to limit your time spent in the sun, particularly in the middle of the day when it's really hot. I like to relax in the shade under a tree when it's too hot.
