Cyber Smart | Sort out your google drive

LI: to clean and tidy your google drive. 

This week we have been given another cyber smart activity from Manaiakalani. This week, the activity given was to sort out our google drive. When sorting out your google drive you need to make sure it is named and in the right folder. First we made a copy of the activity DLO. We first sorted out where each DLO go in the folders, this was for the activity. Once sorting each out we then took a screenshot of our clean and tidy google drive and popped it in the activity DLO, *DLO above*. 

This was a fun activity and gave me the chance to sort out my messy google drive.  

Know your keyboard | Cyber Smart Activity 2

 LI: to learn more about your keyboard.

This was the second activity for the cyber smart challenge. This activity was based on knowing your keyboard and the different types of keyboard shortcuts. With our knowledge of using chrome books we found out the different types of keyboard shortcuts. For example; Copy and past is - Ctlr + c + ctrl + v. With this activity we found identified the different uses of each keyboard tab. 

Kawa of Care | Cybersmart

 LI: Be cyber smart and use our devices to learn, create, and share. 

Today we were given 2 cyber smart challenges to complete. This was the first activity. For this activity we were putting the words in the right sentences, basically matching words with sentences. There were different scenarios explaining why we need to be careful with our chrome books and how we can handle them. One of the helpful advice they gave us were; hold both handles of chrome book case when taking it somewhere. 

Lastly we created an agreement of use when using our chrome books. This was called the Kawa of Care. 

Cybersmart | The importance of a relevant image connecting to the text

L.I To create an DLO showing why we add pictures that connects to the text/Information.

 

This week for cybersmart Liletina and I created a DLO explaining why adding an image that relates to the text is important. We showcased 2 examples 1 correct and 1 wrong. For a more interactive DLO we created a voice record recording why we think adding relevant images matching the text is important. As an example for a topic we used science, the examples were:

Correct - Using an image of a proper science measuring bottle. 

Wrong -  Using an image of a regular cooking measuring cup.

LI: Create a DLO about being Cybersmart.

This week I have finished a confidence task. I had to create a DLO about being cybersmart. I have showed 3 examples about it and gave a tip as an extra information. In this DLO the examples I chose were going on sites that are secure, using labelled for reuse images, and atributing them.

Cybersmart | Legal Images

LI: To find three different ways of finding Legal Images.
Legal Images means an image that is allowed to be used due to public domain. In groups of 2 we made a movie about different ways to find Legal Images. There are three ways: Slow Way, Fast way and Super, Super Fast way.

Cybersmart | Illegal and Legal Images

LI: To learn what is Illegal and Legal images are.

This week for cubersmart we had started with Illegal and Legal images. We had to find out what they mean and give examples of them. We also used google slides to record down our research. We found 2 websites that have illegal and legal images shown. To know if an image is legal to use you would find an attribution link with a license. It is the opposite for an illegal image.

Lever | Cybersmart

LI: To apply the print design rules. 
This week we had created a poster using the 4 print design rules about one of the 6 simple machines we have been learning about in inquiry. I had chosen the Lever. We had to give information about a lever. A lever is one of the 6 simple machines and is a long rigid body with fulcrum along its length.  It rests on a pivot. It helps us lift loads with less effort. 

 

Cybersmart | Print Design Rules

LI: To apply the print design rules to a poster.

This week for Cybersmart we had to fix posters on the print design rules. The print design rules are Layout, Compisition, Text and Color. We had make them suitable to read and see. We had used google slide to finish this.

Print Design Rules

LI: To identify the four areas of print design.

This week for  cybersmrt we were learning about the print design rules. We had a google slide that we had to sort out. There were different slides that were based on the print design rules. In the print design rules there are four areas, Layout, Compisition, Text and Colors. They all represent the types of a good and bad quality of a DLO. We had to look at the slide and see which print design rule it goes under.

Cybersmart | Keywords | Komodo Dragons

LI: To use keywords for better searching.

This week we have been continuing with Keywords. We had to find two sites that has facts about our questions and the topic ( Komodo Dragons). The two websites I had used was Live Science and Smithsonians National Zoo. We had to copy and paste the answers to our questions. The three questions were "Where do Komodo Dragons Live?" "How long to Komodo Dragons live?" and  "What do Komodo Dragons eat?".

Organising our Drives | Cybersmart

LI: To organise your drives.

This week for cybermart we had to organise our drives. We had to sort out where each item goes in our folders. We had to put the different DLO's in the write places so we can get our DLO's easier and faster.

Meme | Collaboration

LI: to collaborate on a task.
 Collaborate means working with other people to accomplish something. We learnt to collaborate by watching an example and creating a meme about collaboration with a partner.We had got a picture from online or make your own. If you had got it from online you need to remember to attribute it so it doesn't seem like you a plagiarising.     

Formal and Informal Language

This week for cybersmart we had been talking about  Formal and Informal language when we make a smart comment. We had talked about what is a Formal language and what is an Informal language. We made a DLO giving examples of Formal and Informal language.

This week for cybermsart we have been talking about how to make a smart comment. In  a smart comment you need:

1.  Greetings - Hello ( name), Greetings (Name), etc
2. Make a connection - I have also did this ...
3. Question - What.., How..,Where.. Who..., When..,
4. Positive Feedback - I think you should work on....
5. Farewell - Keep it up!

This week I had posted a comment on Bella H's SSR Selfie. We had been reading a book called " Dear Dumb Diary" about a 11 yr old middle schooler who had a diary. She promises that everything in her diary is true... atleast as true as it needs to be.
