SSR Selfie | The Celtic Myth

LI: To summarise and retell a text.

This week for SSR Selfie I had read a book called " the celtic myth". This book is about treasury myths and legends of the Celtic myth.

Geometric Abstract Art | Area & Perimeter

LI: To manage fiances and profit by creating maths.

This week for maths we have been working on our art. We first learnt about area and perimeter and how to measure them. Perimeter is the outsides of an object. The area is the whole space inside the perimeter. We had learnt about this so we could measure the wall where we are putting our art. We had to measure the height and width  of the space we were going to use. We had chose an art that related to maths. I chose Geometrical Abstract Art, I had made an example of what I am going to do for my art. My measurements are 30 height and 25 width.

Advertising

LI: To learn about persasive tool in advertising.

This week for writing we have been continuing with advertising. We had worked in groups of 3-4. I had worked with Charlize, Afatia and Farzana. We had found different examples of advertisments and the hacks that they use to make their food look good but in reality it is a mess. We had also looked at slogans and the different types. Then we had a try to make our own slogan about Panmure Bridge School.

Stop this horrendus CRIME!

LI: To identify the main ideas in the text.

This week we had read an article called " Stop this horrendus crime!". It was about experimenting on animals and why that shouldn't happen. I had to make a flipgrid on whether I agree with the article or not and why. I had found out that defenceless poor animals are being tested on and prodded with poison from needles and before their death they are forced to inhale toxic fumes.

Archimedes Screw | Inquiry

LI: To identify a simple machine.

This week for inquiry we had learnt the last of the 6 simple machines, the archimedes screw. A screw is a simple machine that can transfer soft and liquid things from a low point to a high point. It is bent on an axle depending on the force. We had made an archimedes screw using plastic pipes and a wooden stick. We worked in groups of fives to create this. We had used a bucket of water. Our goal was to get the water from one end to another by rotating the stick with the pipe.

Lever | Cybersmart

LI: To apply the print design rules.
This week we had created a poster using the 4 print design rules about one of the 6 simple machines we have been learning about in inquiry. I had chosen the Lever. We had to give information about a lever. A lever is one of the 6 simple machines and is a long rigid body with fulcrum along its length.  It rests on a pivot. It helps us lift loads with less effort.

Kiwi Can | Puzzle

LI: To complete challenges and understand what is a challenge.

This week for Kiwi Can our theme was Resilience and our topic was dealing with challenges. We first had our greeting. Our greeting was " Malo E Lelei " for Tongan language week. Our catchphrase for the week was " Kiwi can says, When your dealing with challenges, Don't go over it, don't go under it but go through it and just do it!"

Energiser!
For our energiser this week we played a game called Commands. We all had to stand in a circle and Mrs Mack with say 6 commands that we have to follow. If she says one command and we do a different command then we are eliminated.

Then we had a discussion about how challenging that was .

Activity!
For our activity we had to go into groups of 3 and try and solve a puzzle using a piece of paper and a pen. We had to use different shapes to create one whole shape. This challenge was definitely difficult because we didn't know where all the pieces went. At the end we all found out the answer and realized that if we thought outside the box than we would accomplished it.

Bonus Challenges!
At the end of Kiwi Can Mrs Mack gave our teacher an Idea to give us a challenge. The challenges was to do the exact same puzzle we had done for our activity and give instructions. If you would like to do this challenge than make a copy of this link - Puzzle DLO
