Activity 3: The Midnight Zone [10 points]

One of these creatures is called the ‘Colossal Squid.’ A colossal squid can weigh as much as 495 kilograms (kg)! Here in New Zealand, we have a full-sized colossal squid on display at Te Papa Museum in Wellington. It is the only specimen of its kind in the entire world! This squid weighs approximately 500 kg. In 2018, a team at Te Papa decided to move the giant squid from one area of the museum to another. Deep in the ocean, far below the surface, lies an area called the ‘Midnight Zone.’ It is called the midnight zone because it is always dark or ‘pitch black’ in this area. Much of the deep sea has yet to be explored by humans, however, we do know a little bit about the creatures that live here.

Activity 2: A Local Delicacy [4 points]

Carrot Cake

What you will need:

*All dry ingredients go together

Baking soda 8 tsp

Plain flour (If No Plain flour) / Self Raising Flour 8cups

2 tsp salt

12 tsp cinnamon

2 tsp NutMeg

* All wet ingredients go together

16 eggs

4  4/4 - 1/4 oil

4 tsp Vanilla Essence

Walnuts 4 Cups

Carrot  8 cups

Brown Sugar 4 cups


Steps

Put all of the following ingredients into one bowl -

1) 16 eggs

4  4/4 - 1/4 oil

4 tsp Vanilla Essence

Walnuts 4 Cups

Carrot  8 cups

Brown Sugar 4 cups

2) Mix Until smooth

3)Then add other ingredients.

4) Mix until smooth

 5) put in a tray

6) then put it in the oven

DAY 3: First You ‘Sea’ Me, Now You Don’t | Activity 1: Night Owls [4 points]

Myself - I would call Myself an Early Riser because I go sleep early and wake up at around 6am to 8am  most of the time and I get up make breakfast and clean my Bed. 

 Older Sister -  I would call her a Night Owl because she always stays up on her phone or Chromebook. She usually wakes up at around 12pm to 2pm

Younger Sister - I would call her an Early Riser Like me. She wakes up before me sometimes at like 5-6 and wakes me up because she is hungry for Breakfast. 

Mum - I would call her A Night Owl because she stays up watching movies on Netflix while we are sleeping. She wakes up at around 11am to 12pm.
