Activity 3: ‘Dear Jacinda’ [6 points] | SLJ | DAY 1

Today I have completed the last activity for day 1 week 2. For this activity I had to create a persuasive letter and imagine it was going to be sent to Jacinda Ardern the NZ PM. For this letter the problem I talked about was suicide. I talked about how too many people are suicide each year. I think this is a really bad problem and also I think that we should be more positive to others.

  3. Hi Fau,

I really liked the topic you picked to ask to Jacinda Ardern. Suicide is a big thing and its happening a lot everywhere around the world. What are somethings we can do to also lower the percentage of suicide.

    Great Job!

  4. Hi Fau

You have completed another great week on your learning journey. This is a very powerful letter about many issues that we as individuals, and as communities find hard to talk about. Well done.

  5. Kia ora Fau,

Wow, what an amazing piece of writing. Firstly I want to thank you for having the guts to express your opinion about a very sensitive and tapu topic because many people find it very difficult to openly talk about the issue of suicide so ka pai, ka pai. I think it is also important to remember that it is absolutely okay not to be okay too, meaning that if you or someone is having a bad day, it is totally fine for that to happen as long as we know that tomorrow might be a better one and that we look towards our loved ones or friends for support and help. You hit the nail right on the head when you said that we need to be more supportive and caring! Thank you for your sincere letter and for treating the topic with the respect it deserves Fau, keep up the great mahi :)

  7. Hi Fau,
I liked how you addressed a really important issue in your letter to the prime minister, too many people are suicidal and cheering them up could make a big difference. I also liked how you said that we could lower bullying and suicide rates by caring for those in need. How do you think we could make people happier?
