LI: to develop body movements of balance, rotation and strength.
First to start our session we had done some stretches to stretch ourselves out. The stretches we did were:
- L shape
- Seal
- Butterfly
- Straddle
- Back, front side support
First Rotation - The first rotation my group started with was Beam. On the Beam we had to walk backwards without looking back, and to use our feet to tap the wood on the beam to make sure we were going straight. The then we did the Box. When you are doing the box you need to do a cartwheel, you can do a big cartwheel or a small one. Then we had the bench where we had to do a straight forward roll. Then we moved on to the other Rotations.
Second Rotation - Our second rotation was the trampoline. With the trampoline we had to run up, do a starfish then land in a proper position. The other one was the Backwards roll. We had to hold our neck
( for safety reasons) tuck then roll and land. Then after that we had to do the scorpian. The scorpian is doing a handstand but one leg higher than the other. Then we had to do the 180 degree jump. the 180 degree jump is jumping and turning 180 degree and landing.
Third Rotation - The third rotation we started with the Handstand on the wall. We had to walk up the wall with our legs and take one leg off the wall and make it straight then do it the same to the other leg. Then we had the front support when we lift our own body weight and do a tuck shape, or a L shape or a seal. Next was the Parallel bars. We also had to lift our weight but push up. Last was the Back/Front/Side rotation.
At the end we all sat down and talked about what was the most difficult for us so coach Steve can make the rotations more difficult to progress ourselves. The thing that was the most difficult for me was the Back/Front/Side rotation.

ReplyDeleteReading through your blogpost makes me so interested in gymnastics. You included the definition and method on how to do the different rotations and use the objects within the rotations. Did the stretches help you in gymnastics? Thats all Fau, keep writing blogposts with detail, that way the readers can understand better! Bye.
