This week for inquiry we had learnt the last of the 6 simple machines, the archimedes screw. A screw is a simple machine that can transfer soft and liquid things from a low point to a high point. It is bent on an axle depending on the force. We had made an archimedes screw using plastic pipes and a wooden stick. We worked in groups of fives to create this. We had used a bucket of water. Our goal was to get the water from one end to another by rotating the stick with the pipe.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.
