Kiwi Sport | Boxing | Defences

LI: To learn how to use the defences in boxing.

This week for boxing with ax we were talking about the defences in boxing. We first played a warm up called snatch the cone. We had to pair up with someone and get into a line there was a cone in the middle we had to try get the cone before your partner.

Then we were talking about the defences. The first defence was called guard. We our partner had to get a noodle and hit our head softly with it. We had to put our gloves above your forehead so you can protect your head if it was a real punch.

The other defence was called bridge. Your partner with the noodle has to try hit you with the noodle but you move back. You use your footwork. This was called a bridge. We use this when someone attacking you with a punch you can defend.

The other defence was called Slip. Our partner had to put the noodle up and tap our shoulder with it. We had to move side to side with our head but looking up.

The next and last defence was called U-roll. We had to put the noodle on our partners shoudler and our partner had to go under and around up.
